Meet Hannah (circa 2023)

At Be Found Be Chosen, we’ve started doing Meet The Team posts, and seeing as this is all about me šŸ˜… why not include my own post here as well…

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m (currently) a one-man social media team, hopefully growing in the near future, as Kelly goes nuts with sales! I’m knee-deep in Facebook Business Manager or TikTok Ads Center on-the-daily, battling misbehaving Pixels and creating performance campaigns for my lovely client base. As anyone who knows me will attest, I love a chat and have taken it upon myself to AM (account manage) most clients who receive more than one service at the agency!

We’re a small team so even though I’m Miss-Paid-Social, I do wear some other hats as well. I’m Miss-BFBC-Socials (when I can), I love writing content for the website, and creating design assets for the agency!

I’m alsoĀ  known for my intense organisation, which I do try my best to instil in everyone at Be Found, even if it is under duress! 🤭

What does a typical Monday look like for you?

I usually enjoy a quiet Monday morning, I avoid booking in any calls so that I can plan my week of client work, personal development and any agency activity (like writing this post šŸ‘€). Client account checks are a must in the morning, we all know how temperamental the digital platforms can be and I need to make sure we’re still up and running after the weekend, and of course these checks influence the account activity I’ll conduct over the week.

I have a few clients that receive weekly updates/reports so I make sure they all go by lunchtime and check-in with the team to make sure there aren’t any client issues I need to be aware of (I tend to AM for any cross-service clients).I like to end the day with a gym session šŸ’Ŗ , as it sets the tone for the rest of my week.

What drives you?

I’m quite curious and love problem-solving, so if a client says ā€˜this doesn’t work for us’ ā€˜this is broken but we don’t know why’ – this is like music to my ears and I need to find out, not just for the client but my own learning as well.

My favourite thing about working with smaller companies is the impact my work has on their wider business. It’s so rewarding when your activity contributes to their best day since X date.

What’s so great about working at Be Found?

Autonomy. I’ve had the space to make my role and the Paid Social ā€˜department’ my own. I’m heavily involved in pitching to new clients, which means I have some influence over the types of work we bring on board and get an idea of the scope of work before anyone’s signed on the dotted line.
Again, because we’re small but mighty, if there’s anything (and I mean anything) you’d like to happen, be it client work related, agency or socials – we can make it happen, usually pretty quickly! šŸ¤“

Of course I can’t forget to mention the great people I also get to work with at Be Found Be Chosen.

Your best digital marketing advice in one sentence?

TEST. TEST. TEST… and just because something ā€˜worked’ a couple of years ago, doesn’t mean it will now. We’ve all had to pivot since the iOS update (can you believe that’s 2 years ago now) and will do it again once Cookies have gone the journey too! šŸŖ āŒ

Favourite marketing campaign?

I can’t not mention the Greggs Vegan Steak Bake launch (the brain-child of local agency Drummond Central šŸ˜)!Ā I’m pretty sure they had a midnight launch in one of the bigger Greggs locations in Newcastle City Centre and branded up the entire campaign in a similar way to an influencer collab. Greggs X Vegan. Even as someone who wasn’t necessarily the target market for this new launch, I was hooked, their content across the board was really slick andĀ  built up anticipation!

Highlight of your career so far…

This is an easy one. Last year I was shortlisted in the North East Marketing Awards for the Rising Star of the Year 2022 category.
As you can imagine, it was such an honour to be nominated and find out about all the other amazing work being conducted around the North East.

What’s the best thing you’ve learned this year?

I love getting stuck into other areas of digital marketing, and being part of a smaller team really allows me to ā€˜neb’ on other people’s work and ask questions. In the last year I’ve tackled product feed optimisation, both on Shoptimised and using Meta Commerce Manager. But more recently, I’ve been getting into Google Tag Manager, setting it up for clients and linking everything in there. ā˜ŗļø

BFBC highlight?

It’s crazy to think that I’ve been at Be Found for over a year! What’s even crazier is that Paid Social wasn’t a full service in its own right until October 2021 (when I arrived)!

To be able to say I’ve helped launch a service and help grow this is absolutely amazing. I might only beĀ  a department of one but I try and input into the agency wherever I can, whether that’s through creating processes to streamline onboarding/offboarding or designing assets, or helping you decide where to get lunch from! šŸ•šŸŒ®šŸ„‘šŸŖ

What does it take to work at BFBC?

You definitely need to be a self-starter. We preach the ā€˜no-micromanagement’ rhetoric and that really means that no one will be telling you what you should be doing!Ā With this also comes the right attitude, don’t know how to do something? GO LEARN IT! We have the space to really grow our skillsets. I, for example, really want to get into the backend of websites more because I’ve had a couple of clients whose website set ups have affected Paid Social, so I’ve been able to go away, get training and actively solve issues outside of my ā€˜services’.

Dream client?

Someone who is genuinely interested in working collaboratively, no micromanaging because you used to run Facebook ads in 2010 or dismissive of the impact Paid Social can have on their business growth.Ā If we’re talking about brands I’d love to work with, I’m massively into reading so Waterstones would be šŸ«¶šŸ¼ or any major activewear brand.
