Learning Limited on Facebook? Let’s Fix That!

So you’re running your own Facebook campaigns and hit a bit of a stumbling block, learning limited… 😬⚠️
Facebook Business Manager + Ads Manager is a minefield at the best of times, and now you have warning signs to worry about! But fear not, your ad is still active, there’s just a few tweaks you can make to get back on track.

The little yellow learning limited sign can crop up for a multitude of reasons, when your campaigns are in the learning phase, Facebook is still understanding how to best deliver your ads.
The aim of the game is to exit the learning phase, so Facebook can utilise your budget as effectively as possible, meaning lower cost per actions, cost per clicks and higher click through rates.

What to do when delivery is “learning limited”:

Money, money, money 💸
Make sure you’re giving your campaign the best possible chance from the off!
Learning limited can often come up when there isn’t enough budget to push your ad sets out of the learning phase by generating enough optimised events.

Remember that estimated daily results (provided at ad-set level) only take budget, schedule and target demographics into account. They cannot account for copy/creative, product or landing page.

Less is more
I know it’s tempting to go in and make changes if your campaign isn’t generating enough events, the CPC is a little higher than you’d like or the CTR isn’t up to scratch. But trust the process.
Everytime you make a significant edit to your campaign, it will reenter the learning phrase. Best practice is to try not to edit your campaign for at least a week to help it exit the learning phrase.

Merge your ad sets
Before launching your campaigns, make sure you’re not competing against yourself by targeting the same audience in different ad sets, this will drive up costs and means your budget won’t go as far! Consolidate your ad sets (and budgets) to give them the best chance to optimise!
