I answer your burning questions about Facebook Ads.
Starting paid social ads can seem intimidating if you don’t know where to start, but fear not; the Be Found Be Chosen experts answer your most Googled questions about Facebook Advertising.
Are Facebook Ads worth it?
Absolutely, Facebook ads are a cost-effective way of getting new prospecting customers to visit your website. Facebook seeks out new customers, whereas Google ads rely on people searching or retargeting using display ads.
Are Facebook Ads worth it in 2022?
Despite a slew of negative publicity in recent years, Facebook Ads can still be a very effective way to reach new customers online.
Despite ongoing changes like Apple’s infamous iOS 14.5 update which made tracking users more difficult, and ongoing concerns regarding privacy, Facebook Ads can still yield fantastic ROIs. SOme of our clients, for example, currently get a ROAS of X for every 1 invested. This is highly dependent on a number of factors such as average order value, cost of goods sold, and profit margins, so speak to one of our paid social experts if you’re at all unsure.
Are Facebook Ads expensive?
It depends. The cost of running Facebook Ads is dependent on a huge number of factors, including your products, niches, sectors, placements, and even times of day,
Different ad objectives are considered more expensive than others as well.
For example, driving traffic to your website is considered a ‘cheaper’ ad objective than optimising for conversion events (like purchases). This is because for each objective, Facebook will place your ad in front of someone who is most likely to follow-through when your desired action. A conversion is considered more valuable, therefore more expensive than someone clicking on your site.
Can Facebook Ads target by race?
Facebook does not offer this feature.
You can however, target based on age, gender, education, job title and even relationship status.
If you still want to find a work-around, consider the interests that the specific customer segmentation may have and create an audience using these.
Can Facebook Ads target areas?
Yes, Facebook Ads can target specific areas or regions.
In some cases you can get as granular as inputting a postcode then selecting a radius to target.

Can Facebook Ads have text?
Since 2020, Facebook has dropped the requirement that images used within ads cannot contain more than 20%. Despite this, the best practice recommends that images are not text heavy, especially regarding promotional overlays and Facebook recommends that a ratio of 20% is still used.
How do Facebook Ads work in 2022?
Facebook, or Meta should we say, has recently announced the removal of targeting options available for marketers, meaning we can no longer target based on sensitive parameters.
For example if you were selling a hair loss prevention product, hair loss management is no longer available as an interest. This requires us to be a little smarter with our demographics and workaround, as mentioned above, consider what other interests someone who manages hair loss might also have.
How does Facebook Ads Manager work?
Great question… Even though Facebook has been designed to make it easy for anyone to create, manage and report on their social media ads, it can seem very daunting. Facebook often add and trial different setting options within ad accounts and if you are not confident, this can be overwhelming.
That’s why a lot of businesses get the help of an agency who has years of experience working within Facebook Business Manager and Ads Manager, optimising for maximum results and analysing the data for future campaigns.

Which Facebook Ads are most effective?
Video continues to be a dominant force in 2022, and this is no different on Facebook Ads. Video is also a great way to gain engagements on your social media ads.
If a user watches your whole video, this is a good indication that they are at least slightly interested in your product and you can retarget them again with slightly different messaging.
Which Facebook Ads perform best?
Well targeted audiences with ads customised and relevant to audience interests and demographics perform well on Facebook.
Make sure copy and creative align with your audience and there’s a clear call to action, that, coupled with an awesome value proposition, you’re good to go.
Why are my Facebook Ads not delivering?
There can be a multitude of reasons why your Facebook ad is not delivering.
We would recommend first looking at your tracking and making sure your Facebook Pixel is firing across from your website correctly.
Then have a look at your target demographics; are you trying to get in front of too many people with broad interests or have you cornered yourself into a tight niche? Identify this then make sure you’re tailoring your messaging to reflect the types of people you’re looking to attract.
Make sure your ad and destination link adhere to the Facebook community guidelines, there are some products and services that Facebook do not allow for advertising (think the promotion of adult products etc).
